Reaching People with the Gospel of Jesus Christ

“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19

About Fishers of Men

Fishers of Men is the evangelism and outreach ministry of The Apostolic Center, committed to reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping believers to become effective witnesses of His life, death, resurrection, and saving power.

We believe the Gospel is God’s power for salvation and that every believer has a part to play in making Christ known. Evangelism is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or a select group of gifted individuals. It is part of the calling of the entire body of Christ.

Jesus called His disciples to follow Him and promised to make them fishers of men. Their journey began with following Jesus, learning from Him, and being transformed by His presence. They were then sent out to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom.

In the same way, we desire to help believers grow in Christ and become confident, compassionate, and faithful witnesses wherever God has placed them.

Our Biblical Foundation

Before His ascension, Jesus commissioned His disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe His commands (Matthew 28:18–20).

He also declared:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me…” (Acts 1:8).

These instructions establish evangelism and discipleship as central responsibilities of the Church. We are called not merely to gather people into meetings but to proclaim Christ, invite people into a relationship with Him, and help new believers grow into mature disciples.

The early Church demonstrated this commitment through public preaching, personal witness, teaching, and the sharing of the Gospel from place to place.

Our Mandate

Fishers of Men exists to mobilize the members of The Apostolic Center to reach people with the truth and love of Jesus Christ.

Our mandate includes:

  • Personal evangelism: Equipping believers to share their faith naturally and clearly with friends, relatives, neighbours, colleagues, and acquaintances.

  • Community outreach: Taking the Gospel beyond the walls of the fellowship through organized outreach and meaningful engagement with people.

  • Gospel conversations: Helping members communicate biblical truth with gentleness, wisdom, compassion, and respect.

  • Follow-up and discipleship: Supporting those who respond to the Gospel and helping them establish a strong foundation in Christ.

  • Inviting people into fellowship: Creating opportunities for people to hear the Word, experience Christian community, and grow in their understanding of God.

  • Raising witnesses: Encouraging every believer to recognize that their daily life, conduct, words, and relationships can point others to Jesus.

Evangelism with Love and Purpose

We believe that effective evangelism requires both the faithful proclamation of the Gospel and genuine love for people.

Our responsibility is to communicate the message of Christ clearly, answer questions honestly, demonstrate compassion, and treat every person with dignity. We do not seek to manipulate people or measure success only by the number of responses recorded. We seek to be faithful to the Gospel and to help people take meaningful steps toward Christ.

We also recognize that evangelism does not end when someone first believes. New believers need teaching, fellowship, encouragement, and opportunities to grow in spiritual maturity.

For this reason, we connect evangelism with discipleship. Our desire is to see people come to Christ, become established in the faith, discover their gifts, and eventually participate in the work of ministry themselves.

Every Member Is a Witness

You do not need to stand behind a pulpit to share the Gospel. Your home, workplace, school, neighbourhood, business, and everyday relationships can become opportunities to make Christ known.

Some members may serve through organized outreach, while others may be especially effective in personal conversations, follow-up, hospitality, or helping new believers become established in the fellowship.

Every contribution matters when it is offered faithfully to God.
